FRACTIONAL COO FOR LAW FIRMS

Senior operating leadership — without the full-time hire.

An operator in your business, not a consultant on call. Some businesses don't need another project — they need someone senior who drives execution month after month, keeps the team accountable, keeps the numbers honest, and steadily reduces how much of the business runs through the owner. The Fractional COO Retainer is that engagement.

What it addresses

Plans that stall; accountability that depends on the owner's attention; reporting that drifts; operational decisions with no senior owner besides you; the gap between "we should" and "we did."

Scope

Ongoing operational leadership including: running the operating rhythm (weekly/monthly/quarterly cadence); driving priorities to completion; management reporting oversight; accountability and performance follow-through; systems and process stewardship; vendor and project oversight; owner advisory on operational and organizational decisions. Structured as a defined weekly on-site or remote presence, plus availability between.

Process

1. Baseline (or Audit) to set priorities.

2. Establish the operating cadence and reporting.

3. Monthly cycle: priorities set, driven, reviewed; problems surfaced early; owner briefed with real numbers.

4. Quarterly reset of priorities against the firm's goals.

Deliverables

A running management system — cadence, reporting, accountability — plus measurable movement on a defined priority list every month.

Expected outcomes

Execution that doesn't depend on your enforcement; earlier visibility into problems; a team that knows what it owns; an owner whose calendar gradually returns to ownership-level work. Engagements also tend to surface real money — vendor terms, redundant systems, and overhead nobody has examined in years. We commit to the discipline that finds it, not to a number.

Ideal client

Firms and founder-led businesses, typically $2M+ in revenue, whose owner is ready to delegate operational leadership but isn't ready — or doesn't need — to hire a full-time COO.

Pricing

$6,000–$12,000 per month depending on scope and cadence, with a three-month initial commitment, month-to-month thereafter.
